Day 2 in beijing

Early in the morning, we went to Temple of Heaven. Well this place seems to be a gathering place for retirees..

See..so many uncles & aunties exercised early in the morning..impressive!


We walked along this long pavement before we reached the temple..


Let's take a closer look...oh no...many uncles were gambling!!! in the morning?! they really v free ah...envy..


Finally we reached Temple of Heaven '天 坛'! Is where the Ming & Qing emperors used to pray to the heaven...


This stretch of pavement is known as 神 路, in the past only Emperor can walk..hmm..now seems like everyone can walk lo..


Thereafter, we proceed to Summer Palace '颐 和 园'.


This old man was using water to write poems on the floor...many uncles were doing it for leisure..v artistic hor..


Hmm..i think the flowers are very sweet..see the bees hovering around the flowers..


Time for lunch! here's our restaurant..very oriental looking..


This waitress very cute right? hee..


Beautiful bridge @ this imperial chinese garden..


On our way to take cruise, see the ship behind me? is made of stone...


Our tour group were on board for the river cruise..we occupied the entire boat or izzit ship?! not v sure..hehe..


Wow..the scenery is nice..


Tea appreciation time..i'm v thirsty! haha!

北 京 Day 1...sleepy day..

We took 12am flight to beijing on 9 Oct..reached around 6am..i din really sleep well in the plane..kinda uncomfortable sleeping..missing my bed badly indeed..

We took our buffet breakfast @ the airport..there's quite a no. of variety..oni @ S$3 per pax..wow!

Thereafter we proceed to our 1st destination..the Beijing Oylmpic 2008 countdown clock..


天 安 门 广 场 was so crowded early in the morning. Our tour guide said it was worse during their national day Oct 1-7 as they were given 7 days public holidays & many China ppl seems to gather in Beijing places of interest..walao..

Welcome to 故 宫 ! Let's take a look at the Emperor's place...

Our tour guide started talking about history again..v interesting..my mummy v smart..sit down & listen..haha..


Emperor's Chair..wow..looks antique indeed..


Now we are going to enjoy 宫 廷 御 膳 !


After our emperor's lunch, we proceed 卢 沟 桥. a very long jounery..really worth going coz 意大利旅行家马可·波罗在他的游记中称赞“它是世界上最好的、独一无二的桥”。桥东为宛平县城，明崇祯十一年（１６３８年）建。１９３７年７月７日，日本帝国主义在此发动全面侵华战争。宛平城的中国驻军奋起抵抗，史称“卢沟桥事变”（亦称“七七事变”）。


桥身两侧石雕护栏各有望柱１４０根，柱头上均雕有卧伏的大小石狮共５０１个，神态各异，栩栩如生。

We took a long & slow journey back to have dinner..beijing's traffic is very terrible..we don't really mind coz all of us were v sleepy, jz sleep till we reached lo..who cares..haha..

Happy Birthday Lingyu!

On 7 Oct, my dear Lingyu set her eyes on this Japanese Restaurant after searching around for a nice place for dinner @ vivo city. The decor like jap traditional restaurant. It serves japanese cuisine..


Oh..we missed out taking the pix of our 1st dish coz we are too overwhelmed with what we saw....an egg in a wine glass..a special kinda egg imported direct from jap & mixed with mini mushrooms..u can sip it down your throat smoothly..till now is still unforgetable..This is our 2nd dish, v crispy on the outside..the crab meat inside really taste great!


This is the set meal of our birthday gal..


She seems v engrossed in eating wor..

I'm v v full...trying to drink green tea to digest...but dun seems to help..

Thousands of people @ Expo wearing red polo tee "What's Your Number" on 1st October..well is Prudential Final Sprint...Pru is promoting it aggressively..

Yay! OUR 'break time' @ hongkong cafe! v sleepy ahh..all of us ordered a cuppa coffee..see our droopy eyes..esp my xiao di, Raymond who jz woke up from the seminar..eer...opps! ;p


After a sip of coffee...do we look much better? keke!!

Lunar 2nd Anniversary - Mid Autumn Celebration Day 5

Finally 中 秋 节 arrived! Well..it is also our lunar 2nd Wedding Anniversary..now you all understand y we love this day so muchie!! Haha...

We went to Chinatown, a typical place where many people celebrate 中 秋 节..


After walking for quite a distance, i stopped by this shop coz i find it v antique..


Finally we went to beijing restaurant to celebrate our BIG day..we chose this restaurant coz we wanna try their beijing style of cooking. During that time, we haven go Beijing yet..hee..

This fish is the main attraction that makes us came in to give it a try..


Many actors seems to visit this place before too..


My dear boy is waiting for dinner...this fish seems v difficult to prepare..we waited for more than 30mins liao..v hungry!!


Our fish finally came before we fainted! Yummy yummy!!


The chinatown street was v crowded. I enjoyed such atmosphere & shopped happily along the street with my dear boy..


Monkey is my 生 肖..do i look like one?! hee!


There's stage performance at night too..


We passed by this area where many famous places of interest make of lanterns..but dun plan to go in..we hv better plans later on..


We went to our gardern rooftop of the carpark to play with paper lanterns & candles..


This love of fire is made by my dear boy...
